How to Score At Sea
Brand book made to showcase Jack Purcell brand and Spring 2012 footwear line at Pitti fashion week.
Designed as a "How to Guide" written by Jack Purcell, it combines the charm of then man himself, with the grit of Converse. Peppered with innuendos, content gives a narrative from the point of view of Jack Purcell, and cleverly weaves in key messaging about seasonal fits and fabrics. Inspired by vintage scout guides, and the season's nautical theme, I worked closely with a copywriter and illustrator to create a memorable piece of collateral that was soaked in authenticity. Chaptering and pencil sketches nod to pocket guides popular in the 1940s. Off-white toothy paper and a linen wrapped hardcover with gold deboss give the book a premium, yet vintage feel.
Following the book's success at the Pitti tradeshow, it was developed into an interactive micro-site, intended to drive traffic and give customers a unique brand experience.
